Pixel dimensions and physical print size
Start with pixels
A 5000 × 5400 file describes a pixel grid. At 300 pixels per inch, that grid corresponds to approximately 16.67 × 18 inches. Changing a DPI label alone does not add detail to the artwork.
Leave room around the design
A safe margin keeps lettering and small decorative parts away from the edge. Exact margins depend on the print provider and product. Check its current template rather than assuming one canvas fits every product.
Inspect transparency
A checkerboard preview represents empty pixels. If a white or black rectangle remains behind your art, the original probably contains an opaque background. Centering and resizing will not identify and remove that rectangle for you.
Try the workflow
Choose 5000 × 5400, keep a 5% safe margin and fit your artwork inside it. The exported PNG has the requested outer dimensions; its print quality still depends on the source.
